The goal is to make it easier to find the right support, understand your rights and access critical information when life is turned upside down.
Built by parents with first-hand experience of navigating healthcare, government agencies and support systems when a child is seriously ill.
What is Allvarligt Sjuka Barn?
Allvarligt Sjuka Barn is a non-profit initiative working to help families navigate a complex situation. When a child is struck by serious illness, the family faces not only medical challenges — but also financial, legal and practical ones.
The website provides guidance on financial support, Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS) and personal assistance (personlig assistans), care and self-care (egenvård), rights and appeals. The document library contains legislation, guidelines and guiding court rulings. Under Articles, analyses and experiences from the initiative are published. Under Projects, you will find presentations and proposals.

New tool under development
The Assessment Tool (Bedömningshjälpen)
Bedömningshjälpen is currently a pilot version being used for evaluation and further development.
The tool is designed to help families identify what support, benefits and rights may be available based on their specific situation.
Results are indicative only and cannot be guaranteed to be accurate in individual cases. They do not replace assessments by authorities such as Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan) or the municipality (kommunen), or legal advice.
All evaluation and feedback is collected within Bedömningshjälpen itself.
